First Lely Orbiter launched in Belgium
Merchtem, 29 August 2024 - Today the first Lely Orbiter in Belgium was launched at Bart Vanderstraeten and Marijke d'Hertefelt in Merchtem, Flemish Brabant. This makes them the first dairy farm outside the Netherlands to produce high-quality dairy products on the farm with the Orbiter. The Koeweidehof's fresh dairy will be marketed exclusively to the Belgian market under the ‘Oh!Lait’ label, which is also launched today.

Launch PPS Reinventing Circular Dairy Farming
The PPS 'Reinventing Circular Dairy Farming' was launched today. In this Public Private Partnership, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, Wageningen Livestock Research, Slootsmid, Nederlands Centrum Mestverwaarding, Hanskamp and Lely are working together. The pilot project aims to research how urine can be used as a fertiliser substitute. Using urine as a manure stream can help improve the circularity of a dairy farm.

Lely celebrates 50,000th Astronaut
Maassluis, May 15 2024 - Today the 50,000th Astronaut was handed over to its new owner at the Balmoral Show in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. John Henning OBE, 37th president of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society, was present to celebrate this momentous milestone. Since its commercial introduction in 1995, the Astronaut has revolutionized dairy farming. Currently the Astronaut milking robots milk over 2.500.000 cows daily in over 50 countries worldwide.

Lely and ZLTO start pilot for CO2 sequestration in Dutch soil
Today marked the start of Lely and ZLTO's pilot project focused on CO2 sequestration in Dutch soil. Three farmers have officially entered into a cooperation agreement and committed to participating in this project for a duration of seven years. The primary objective of this pilot initiative is to encourage the sequestration of CO2 in the soil, promoting sustainability within the farming community. Lely is actively contributing to the pursuit of a more sustainable future for the agricultural sector, with the ultimate goal of reducing the environmental impact of farming practices. On carbon sequestration Lely collaborates, among others, with ZLTO.
